Wave 8 of Non College White Surveys: Widespread Support for DACA Extension
We recently completed our eighth round of surveys in 15 key states, asking important questions of non college whites. We found that overall, non-college educated whites are supportive of continuing the DACA program regardless of how the message was framed, though the “Group Loyalty” framing worked better across the ideological spectrum. For example, using a "fairness" argument with conservative voters still left us 5% underwater. But framing the extension of the program as a matter of "group loyalty'" in that these Dreamers make America a stronger nation, produced a net +24% positive response among Republicans.
